SEAN McLAUGHLIN

After working in Los Angeles for the early part of the decade with some notable producers (Andy Johns, Jimbo Barton, Carmen Rizzo) and artists (Rush, Elliott Smith, Marilyn Manson, Death Row Records), Sean McLaughlin started 37’ Productions as a means for musicians to achieve high quality, label-ready recordings routinely unavailable to unsigned artists.

McLaughlin moved back to his hometown of Boston in 2004, collecting a vast array of gear along the way. In 2006, McLaughlin purchased a Pro Tools HD|3 rig and moved 37’ to the town of Rockland. The location houses all the aforementioned gear (Neve, API, Neumann, Soundelux, Chandler, Universal Audio and many others) as well as a large recording space, extensive list of available studio musicians and a prodigious amp and pedal collection that would make any gear enthusiast smile. In 2013, 2018 and 2019, Sean had the honor of being named Producer of the Year by the New England Music Awards. In 2019, Sean became the first to win Producer of the Year for both the Boston Music Awards and New England Music Awards in the same year.

Above all, the studio provides a very creative workflow and comfortable atmosphere. The main tenet of 37’ Productions is to build a great working relationship with artists to get the best results possible, which is why a majority of artists who record here are and continue to be returning or long standing clients. Please see the client list and feel free to contact Sean with any studio or audio related questions you may have.

Brendan Connors

Born and raised in greater Boston, Brendan started his professional music production career in 2009 mixing and mastering live concert recordings for Abbey Road Live including artists like Peter Frampton, The Pixies, The Warren Haynes Band, and many others. Any time he wasn’t on a tour you could find him working freelance in several new england studios as a mix engineer, mastering engineer and studio manager. With over a decade of professional experience in several aspects of analog and digital music production, he is comfortable with a wide variety of production roles and genres.

With a long history as a musician Brendan has always taken an artist-first philosophy to music production, striving to capture the essence of a songwriter’s project without undue influence from the production process itself. Recording can be a stressful endeavor, so it’s imperative that the experience be as accommodating and enjoyable as possible. When the artist is in their happy place, and the technical aspects are properly covered by experienced people with good intentions, it’s almost impossible not to capture something special. Brendan’s specialties include advanced music production and editing with Pro Tools, mastering with Wavelab Pro, MIDI-based production and arrangement with Logic Pro, elastic audio editing for quantised and unquantized music, Melodyne vocal enhancement, editing and preparing sessions, digital audio restoration and repair, music theory, data management for media production, studio troubleshooting and maintenance, audio electronics construction and repair, and over 20 years experience playing the electric bass. Louis Gendron

SERVICES OFFERED:

  • Publishing Administration (splits, performing rights registration & catalog management, publishing, royalties, copyrights)

  • Digital Distribution

Louis Gendron has been a musician since the age of 5 (pretty much as soon as he could get himself onto his dad's drum throne).

It was during that chaotic post-Vietnam Watergate time Louis got bitten by the recording studio bug - when his Dad took him to Suntreader Studios in Sharon, Vermont while classic rock legends Foghat were recording their album Fool for the City.

Around age 14 he switched from drums to guitar, saved up $900 to buy his first 4 track cassette recorder and drum machine, and has been producing and writing ever since.

After a 12 year career in the film industry, Louis rediscovered his passion for music and found a new career in music publishing. Over the last 15 years, Louis has been a music publishing consultant for songwriters, artists, bands, and record labels.

"I've been friends with Sean for years now and I'm really looking forward to being able to bring new offerings to the 37 Ft clients to help make them more successful."
